Candied Sweet Potatoes

4 medium sweet potatoes
1/4 lb. margarine or butter 
1 c. sugar
water


Slice potatoes.  Cook in iron skillet with about an inch of water, butter and sugar.  Cover and simmer until done, about 30 minutes.
